Google and Riya


There are rumours in the blogosphere on Google's plans to buy Riya Photo Search for U.S. $40 million. Munjal Shah's 'Riya Photo Search' uses face recognition and text recognition technology to identify people in photographs.

Riya's Web site is under maintenance. You may send an email to alpha (at) riya (dot) com to get an invitation as an alpha tester.

Note: Reports say Riya.com is not compatible with Firefox.
