Cricket: India v. Pakistan. 1st Test. 3rd Day.

Cricket Test. India v. Pakistan. 1st Test. End of 3rd day's play.

I haven't written anything on the Cricket test match. I follow the match on Cricinfo, but I haven't been able to catch up on the highlights. Saw a bit of Sachin's batting on DD Sports last night. Wonder where are the highlights packages? They seemed to show the entire match.

It's good that Sachin didn't score a century. It was a dull, laboured, stodgy, fidgeting, and uncomfortable ninety-four runs scored by Sachin. Sachin's 35th test century should befit his reputation. I'll be happy watching Sachin score a fast 50 with five fours and a six rather than a pottering 94 with a strike rate of less than 50.

Come on Sachin! Show us the batting of yore. Those booming straight drives past the bowler; that tap off the back foot past mid-off—fast enough to reach the boundary and slow enough to make the fielder chase till the end. The magic of Sachin's batting when will it come back or will it come back? Or has Virender Sehwag stamped his style on our psyche that it even overshadows Sachin?

I will catch up on today's highlights and post tonight or tomorrow morning.

Update I: 4th day's play. 11th March.
Pakistan are three down for only twenty-three on board in their 2nd innings.

Scores:
Pakistan...1st Innings...312 all out
India........1st Innings....516 all out
Pakistan...2nd Innings...29 for 3

Update II: 02:10 p.m. IST. Inzamam and Yousuf Youhana have taken the score past 100 without further loss. Pakistan are 121 for 3. If Pakistan bats through the day and a session tomorrow to set India a target of 200 to win in 75 overs on the final day then it will be interesting to see whether India accepts the run chase and goes for a win or settles for a draw.
